Experience, Wisdom and Compassion

David was born in Chicago to hardworking parents working blue collar jobs. After his parents divorced, he and his sister were raised by a strong and independent mother. David will always be grateful to her for teaching him to be studious, equally independent, fair, and kind. Regretfully, his mother passed away before he became an attorney.

At age 35, David decided to continue his education. He applied to three law schools, of which he was accepted by two. He chose to attend Chicago Kent School of Law. While working a full time managerial job, he went to school at night. His intelligence and his resolve to succeed helped him to complete his legal education, pass the bar, and be sworn in as a lawyer on November 9, 1995.

With his strong work ethic, commitment to his community, and knowledge of the law, David Garcia is the best candidate for the position of Circuit Judge in the 12th Judicial Circuit.

WHAT OUR SUPPORTERS SAY

  • I am a newly practicing Family Law attorney in Will County. I met Judge Garcia through the Will County Externship program where top law students worked at the courthouse. Judge Garcia was very active in preparing young attorneys for the legal profession. I admired him not only for his dedication to helping develop new, professional, and ethical attorneys, but also his sense of humor. After practicing in front of him, my good opinion of him has only grown as he's shown patience and fairness with parties that are going through a difficult time in their lives.

    - Whitney Cameron

  • I'm a practicing Family Law attorney in Will County, Illinois. I can attest to Judge Garcia's honesty, thoughtfulness, and integrity. Specifically, I've observed him encouraging self-represented parties to settle their issues together, telling them “You are two good parents. You should be deciding your own life instead of having the court decide your life.” He'll ask them to step in the hall to try and settle the case before he becomes involved. This often results in the parties reaching an agreement that's better for the family.

    - Angela Henderson

  • One thing I appreciate about Judge Garcia is knowing that he is in the court house by seven a.m.. He reads every motion before they're presented. This is not only more efficient, but as attorneys, we know that he has carefully considered our positions before ruling.

    - Barbara Morton

  • I find Judge Garcia runs an efficient court room and I appreciate his patience while attorneys and clients work to settle the case out in the hallway. Judge Garcia also makes thoughtful decisions and is always prepared.

    - Courtney Mehta

  • Knowing Judge David Garcia personally, I know he is a self-made man. He was born to parents who moved to Chicago from Puerto Rico. Judge David Garcia had a career before he went to law school. In fact, Judge Garcia worked full time while going to law school and graduated at the top of his class. He's spent a life time following his core beliefs that families come first.

    - Angela Henderson
